Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the State is fully prepared to take advantage of the new budgetary provisions and incentives announced in the Union Budget 2026–27, which he described as placing Rajasthan firmly in the mainstream of national development.
Addressing a press briefing at the Chief Minister’s Office, Mr. Sharma said the Union Budget focuses on financial discipline and economic stability while providing a strong roadmap for achieving the vision of a developed India.
“The Union Budget will give new strength to the all-round development of Rajasthan and support our resolve to achieve long-term development goals. It is a roadmap for a developed India,” the Chief Minister said.
Mr. Sharma stated that the Budget would significantly expand employment and self-employment opportunities in the State, particularly through its emphasis on startups and the service sector. He highlighted that Rajasthan has already adopted the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) policy, and the proposed establishment of content creator laboratories in schools would further benefit the youth by nurturing digital and creative skills from an early stage.
The Chief Minister noted that special budgetary provisions aimed at strengthening agricultural infrastructure, improving market access for farmers, and enhancing risk mitigation mechanisms would directly benefit Rajasthan’s agrarian economy. He added that the Budget also opens new avenues for growth for small and large industries, manufacturers, artisans, and workers across the State.
According to Mr. Sharma, industry leaders in Rajasthan are well-positioned to leverage new budgetary schemes to promote manufacturing in key sectors such as bio-pharmaceuticals, chemicals, textiles, handicrafts, and heavy construction and infrastructure machinery.
Highlighting the renewable energy sector, the Chief Minister said Rajasthan’s vast potential in solar energy had been adequately addressed in the Union Budget. He pointed out that an allocation of ₹32,914 crore has been made for renewable energy, marking a 30 per cent increase, along with ₹22,000 crore for the Prime Minister’s Surya Ghar Yojana.
“These provisions will further strengthen Rajasthan’s position as a leading renewable energy hub and support sustainable development across the State,” Mr. Sharma said.
He reiterated that with proactive governance and effective implementation, Rajasthan is ready to maximise the benefits of the Union Budget and contribute meaningfully to India’s overall growth trajectory.
