Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, inaugurated the Startup Conclave 2025 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Shah said the conclave will serve as a platform to connect emerging startups with investors, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of “mind to market.” Organized around the theme “Innovate, Elevate, Accelerate,” the event will host seven sessions on India’s startup roadmap.
Shah noted that India has transformed into the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem with over 1.92 lakh startups and 120+ unicorns, up from just 500 startups and 4 unicorns in 2014. The sector has generated 17.9 lakh jobs and expanded into 770 districts, with 48% of startups founded by women. He highlighted success in IT, healthcare, agriculture, and education, calling startups a key pillar of self-reliance and New India.
Praising Gujarat’s leadership, he said the state has consistently ranked first in the startup ecosystem for four years, with Ahmedabad among India’s top startup cities. He underlined that under PM Modi’s leadership, startups have become not only engines of innovation but also drivers of economic growth and empowerment.
